
Our Erasmus+ week in Barreiro/Lisbon – Portugal 27th March – 2nd April 2022

Day 1: On Sunday 27th March at lunch time we, that’s to say Ayla, Verena and Leon from the 4TS2, Lisa, Jens, Leonie, Melissa and Jana from the 3TS2 and our teachers Mrs Elsler and Mr Tribus, boarded our coach and off we went to Bologna airport. After a 3 hrs flight we touched down in Lisbon and were brought to our hotel.
Day 2: On Monday after a first meet and greet with the students from the other five participating countries, we got the chance to explore Barreiro city and admire the many murals there. We visited a tide and a wind mill which produce green energy. Afterwards we went to visit the REFOOD centre of Barreiro – a voluntary initiative whose aim is to distribute food left overs from supermarkets to poorer families. Already on day one we talked about two SGDs of the UN.
Day 3: Our day began with a trip to Azeitão, a picturesque village which is famous for wine and delicious sweets. Afterwards, we visited the Oceanographic Museum on the coast of Arrábbia National Park. In the afternoon we learned about a lot about the Life Biodiscoveries Project in the Machada National Park. In the evening we went by ferry to Lisbon and enjoyed a wonderful sunset from the Castelo Santo Jorge.
Day 4: On Wednesday we had lessons about circle economy, business and English in our international groups. In the evening we had a lovely students’ dinner with all participants.
Day 5: Today we visited the wonderful UNESCO World Heritage site Sintra. After a tour in the village we also enjoyed a nice lunch in the seaside town of Cascais. In the evening we went again by ferry to Lisbon and enjoyed the lively atmosphere of the city.
Day 6: On Friday all groups had the presentations of the projects they planned and arranged beforehand at home. Then we were awarded our certificates. We had a last lunch together and with that the Erasmus+ Project STEPS4SCHOOLS came to an end. It was a great time and we met lots of people from different countries. The afternoon we spent in Lisbon visiting the Aquarium and we also travel by tram – the famous number 28.
Day 7: In the morning we took the morning flight back to Bologna and arrived in Meran at 6 pm.
